The costs of a well run campaign are enormous. Campaign literature, lawn signs, buttons, shirts, bumper stickers, and TV advertisements cost thousands of dollars. As of this moment, my campaign has no money. In comparison, Curt Weldon has several hundred thousand dollars at his disposal.
For this reason, I am starting this campaign early in order to raise the necessary funds through the Pennies for Change initiative. I believe mere pocket change can make the difference in this campaign from the people who favor progressive politics and are against the current war in Iraq.
Curt Weldon is one of the most influential members of Congress who favors continued defense spending. This spending now totals 400 billion dollars, the largest military budget in the world. In fact, the defense budgets of all world nations do not total this amount. Considering the global reach of the United States in world affairs, local district elections for Congress should be observed and influenced by the global community. Therefore, I am asking for people both inside and outside of the 7th District to contribute in the Pennies for Change initiative.
Please consider sending in any pocket change you have under a dollar to the campaign. Feel free to make out a cheque for amounts under a dollar as well. (Think of it as revenge against banks which charge so many fees. A cheque under a dollar costs the bank more to process than the actual amount.) This campaign is not limited to United States currency. Send change from the country in which you currently reside.
